Daniel Day-Lewis has arrived in my city and has begun filming the upcoming Steven Spielberg film Lincoln, which I’ve written about before. Day-Lewis (or is it just Lewis?) plays the part of Abe Lincoln, who was a president or something. That part isn’t important.

What’s important is that Dan is in town, and my chances of running into him have increased from like 0.01 percent up to around 22 or 23 percent. Still low, but pretty good odds particularly if I continue to run around in his local stomping grounds.

I have always held an interest in Daniel Day-Lewis’ life, and if we were to ever run into one another - perhaps for a drink or a late-night dessert - here is the full list of questions I’d ask him.

- How much training was involved for you to learn how to throw the tomahawk in The Last of the Mohicans?

- Prior to Mohicans, did you have any tomahawk- and/or club-throwing experience?

- Are you really Mohican or were you just acting like one for the movie?

- What is a Mohican?

- That part at the end of The Last of the Mohicans where you shoot off two rifles at the same time, and from the hip: how many takes did that require, or did you nail it the first time?

- I bet you nailed it the first time, didn’t you, you stud?

- Speaking of nailing, how many chicks did you on the Mohicans set?

- More than seven?

- Do you sometimes pop in the VHS of The Last of the Mohicans and just watch all the fight scenes?

- So do I.

- Are your favorite parts in Mohicans any of the scenes where you shoot rifles from the hip, or throw clubs and/or tomahawks, and make out with ladies?

- So are mine.

- Come on you had to think There Will Be Blood was super boring, right?
